Busy Busy Busy (June-August)

So, it seems like I have been a bit slow about posting regular updates. I'm sorry about that. So here are a few of the things that have been happening over the last 3 months.

The Banana Slug (about as slow as me!)

Did I mention the Bicycles?

We started close to home and rode the local streets and trails, then needed a way to branch out...

And the bike rack was installed.

And then we needed a few places to use the bikes and also get some much needed walking.

Santa Clara County Parks Department also offers Lifetime Senior Vehicle Passes.
Senior vehicle passes are provided for a one-time fee of $65 to persons 60 years and older.

A Walk in the Dark Night Hike, Anderson Lake, 8:45pm-10:45pm Take a 1.5-mile hike above and along the lake to explore the sights and sounds of nature at night. Meet at the parking lot on top of the dam. Bring sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing and a flashlight.

From the Ohlones to the Murphys, Harvey Bear Ranch, 9:00am-12:00pm
Take a hiking and van tour back in time to explore the history of the area from the time of the Ohlone People to the pioneering Murphy family. Adults only, meet at the Bear Ranch lot.

Besides doing the biking and walks, we still had time to hang out with friends.

Last week was Elaine's birthday and we headed down the coast and spent 3 days in a very nice Bed & Breakfast in Moss Landing. Moss landing is known for a number of things... Google it.

Moss Landing is situated in the center of the Monterey Bay coastline, equal distance from Santa Cruz to the north and Pacific Grove to the south. It also sits at the head of the Monterey Bay Canyon that stretches out into the Pacific Ocean to the west. Over the 3 days, we ate at some of our favorite restaurants from when we lived in the Monterey and Watsonville area. Read some and walked a bit. Mostly just relaxing in the great weather.

The last time we were in Watsonville, we saw a group painting a roadside retaining wall, but didn't have a good camera along. This time we did and I snapped a few pics.

That's all for now.
